ExerciseBank connector for Claude

The connector lets Claude search 1,492 studio-filmed exercises, read their cues, find swaps, and show the chosen exercises in a card where each video plays. This page covers how to connect, what each tool does, what each plan includes, and what to do when something goes wrong.

Connect

In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and find ExerciseBank in the directory. If it is not listed, choose Add custom connector and paste the server URL above.
Click Connect. An ExerciseBank page opens. Log in, or choose Create a free account (an email and a password, no card), then click Allow.
Back in Claude, ask for a workout, for example: "A 30-minute lower-body workout with dumbbells, easy on my knees. Show me the videos."

To disconnect, remove the connector in Claude, or click Disconnect next to the "Claude" key in your dashboard. Either one ends Claude's access straight away.

The six tools

Claude chooses which tools to call. None of them changes your account or anything else.

Tool	What it does	What it returns
`search_exercises`	Searches the library by name, muscle, equipment you have, movement pattern, difficulty (1 to 5), impact, one side at a time, and joints to avoid. Every filter is optional.	Up to 50 matching exercises per call, each with its id, English and French name, muscles, equipment, pattern, difficulty, loaded joints, and whether its video plays on your plan.
`get_exercise`	Reads one exercise in full.	Description, coaching cues, French, classification, and whether its video plays on your plan.
`get_substitutes`	Finds replacements for one exercise, filtered by your equipment and the joints to avoid.	Up to 30 replacements, ranked by coaches, each with a score and the reason it works as a swap.
`show_exercises`	Shows up to 20 chosen exercises with the sets, reps, time and rest Claude gives them.	A card in the chat with each exercise's looping video, start and end stills, prescription and cues. Video links last one hour.
`get_vocabulary`	Lists the values the filters accept.	The exact names of muscles, equipment, movement patterns, joints and impact levels, the catalogue version, and which exercises have video on your plan.
`account_status`	Reads your ExerciseBank account.	Your email, plan, what it includes, and this month's usage.

All 1,492 exercises, their cues and swaps. Video plays for 50 sample exercises; the others show as locked in the card. Up to 5,000 tool calls a month and 50 different videos a day.

Solo: $39 a year

Every exercise plays its video. Up to 10,000 tool calls a month and 150 different videos a day. For one person. Bought on exercisebank.net/solo, never inside Claude; cancel any time from your dashboard.

Troubleshooting

A video stopped playing, or the card shows a broken video: Video links expire one hour after the card is shown. Ask Claude to show the exercises again; the new card has fresh links.
An exercise says "video with Solo": On the free plan, video plays for 50 sample exercises only. Everything else (cues, muscles, swaps) works for all 1,492. Solo plays every video.
A tool answers with user_media_cap or key_media_cap: You reached the number of different videos your plan shows in a day. It resets the next day (UTC). Data tools keep working.
A tool answers with rate_limited: Too many calls in one minute. Wait a minute and ask again.
A tool answers with monthly_quota_exceeded: Your plan's tool calls for the month are used up. They reset on the first of the month; Solo has a higher allowance.
Claude asks you to connect again, or every tool fails: The sign-in was revoked (Disconnect in the dashboard) or has lapsed. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors, choose ExerciseBank, and click Connect again.
Claude names an exercise that is not in the card: The card only shows ids that exist in the library. Ask Claude to search ExerciseBank for that exercise and show it.
Something else: Write to help with what you asked and what Claude answered.

What ExerciseBank sees

The searches and exercises Claude asks for on your behalf, counted on your account to measure your plan. Never your conversation, Claude's memory or your files. A "joints to avoid" filter is used to answer and not stored. Details in the privacy policy.
