Distinct X-End-User ids your key sends in a calendar month. Use any opaque id (a hash of your user id is fine). A month with 800 people opening a workout screen is 800 end users, whatever they watched.
Every call to /v1. A workout screen is typically 1–3 calls. The full catalogue download counts as one and is cached with an ETag, so a daily sync costs one request.
Plays are not metered. What is limited is how many distinct exercises one person can open in a day (150 on paid plans; a hard workout is 20), which is there to stop crawlers, not users.
Coaches who build programs browse far more than the people who follow them. Mark them as coaches and each may open 400 distinct exercises a day. Every plan includes coach seats; past them, each extra coach is $4 a month.

Requests past the monthly quota return 429 monthly_quota_exceeded until the month rolls or you upgrade. We email you at 80% and at 100% of your monthly end users. On paid plans, reaching the limit is not a wall: new users keep being served for five days, up to 20% over, which leaves time to upgrade. After that, new users return 429 mau_exceeded; existing users always keep working.
No. The sandbox has video for 50 exercises and 25 end users; it exists to build and demo. The License requires a paid plan for any app available to the public.
Enterprise can include a media bundle delivered to your own CDN under a term licence with watermarking. Everything else streams from ours.
